What is stovewood? Stovewood is predominantly Larch and is the perfect alternative to hardwood. Larch is the hardest softwood and has a higher calorific content than most species of wood which basically means it is more efficient than most species of wood and is, in fact, harder than most hardwoods. Before putting stovewood in, make sure your stove is already warm by using kindling and/or firelighters and that there is lots of airflow. It is suitable for use in stoves but is not recommended for use on open fires due to potential sparking. DeliveriesWe are currently only offering morning deliveries.

From September, we will no longer be doing deliveries in wheelie bins. All deliveries will now be done in builders bags. They will be delivered using a van with a crane on the back to lift them off. The bags will be left where the van can get access too. This can be a driveway/garage or pavement/roadside.
If the weather is bad, please feel free to leave out a tarpaulin and we will cover the bags when delivered to keep the logs dry. Due to the weight of the bags, they cannot be moved once off the van. NetsDue to a change in our circumstances, we will no longer be offering delivery of nets. This comes into immediate effect from 20th July 2021.
They will still be available on a collection only basis from the yard and will be priced at £5 each. We need to make sure we minimise the amount of people we are coming into contact with and limit the time we spend out in the community to ensure none of us come into contact with the virus. For us to be able to continue to deliver in as safe a way as possible, we need to minimise the time we are out in the local area and also minimise the time we spend at a property. Whilst we need to keep the Community safe, our main priority is to keep ourselves safe. When we are delivering your logs: Please stay inside your house, this is for both your safety and ours. We will drop your order where requested (this will be discussed at the time you place your order) for you to store away at your discretion. Antibacterial wipes will be used to clean the handles of the wheelie bins between deliveries. Hand sanitiser will be used before and after every delivery. Where possible, we ask that you pay by Bank Transfer (bank details can be provided at time of order). Stacking ServiceREMINDER
We offer a stacking service to all customers where we will help you stack the logs into your log store on delivery. We can only offer this service if your log store is accessible with flat, easy access. Unfortunately recently, we have been going to more and more customers where this is not the case. We deliver the logs in jumbo wheelie bins (2 wheelie bins = 1 builders bag), so as you can imagine they are very heavy to manoeuvre so we need flat, easy access to make this possible. We do ask, where possible, that there is someone there to help. If you want the logs stacked in a particular way, this is something you will need to do yourself. We offer a stacking service to all customers where we will help you stack the logs into your log store on delivery. We can only offer this service if your log store is accessible with flat, easy access. Unfortunately recently, we have been going to more and more customers where this is not the case. We deliver the logs in jumbo wheelie bins (2 wheelie bins = 1 builders bag), so as you can imagine they are extremely heavy to manoeuvre so we need flat, easy access to make this possible. We do ask, where possible, that there is someone there to help. If you want the logs stacked in a particular way, this is something you will need to do yourself. This also applies to jumbo net deliveries. NetsWe often get asked the weight of our nets of logs.
We sell logs in volume rather than weight as volume is a constant measure. The nets are approximately 80x50cm/31x20". 2018Payment OptionsPayment Terms - Cash/Cheque on Delivery/Collection or Bank Transfer.

Logs As softwood is easier to light and hardwood gives a longer burn, both are required for the perfect fire, so we sell an 80%/20% (approx) mix of hardwood (ash, oak, sycamore, beech & birch) and softwood (larch & pine). These are an example of the types of wood you can expect to find in our jumbo nets/builders bags.

We attended Clacks Business Awards Dinner where we were extremely proud to be awarded a Certificate of Merit. Our thanks to everyone involved in making it such a fantastic evening - the hospitality and entertainment were second to none. We've had a really exciting day today (2nd June) - took delivery of a large quantity of silver birch trees to lay down in the warehouse for seasoning. Birch is particularly good as it offers clean firewood and masses of special bark for fire lighting, it gives off a lovely scent when burning and really looks great in the log store or in a basket by the hearth.
